Office time optional: Czech software giant Avast declares full work flexibility for employees

16 December 2020

The Czech software company Avast has decided that beginning next year, employees would be able to decide for themselves when and where they would do their work. It means that if they prefer, they can come to work later than is standard and they’ll be free to work from home or other remote locations. The company’s director Ondrej Vlcek said that asynchronous work is becoming standard in more and more companies. He said that employees would also be able to take more than the usual 25 days off work if they felt they needed it. “Thanks to the year 2020 we’ve realized that often it’s not important where we work from,” Vlcek told E15. “Sometimes it can even help with creativity and productivity. Vlcek said the loosened regime would be made possible not just for employees in the Czech Republic but for all 1,700 employees around the world.
