OMV Petrom closed the first quarter of 2012 with a profit of RON 1.38 bn (€381 m), up 65 percent over the same period last year.
Mariana Gheorghe, CEO of OMV Petrom says that the profit increase came as a result of the higher price of crude oild and the dollar’s appreciation against the lei.
OMV Petrom’s operating profit before interest and taxes rose in the first three months by 51 percent, to RON 1.79 bn (€411 m). In the same period of this year the operating profit was RON 1.19 bn.
