Ondřej Boháč to head Prague’s planning institute

14 December 2016

Ondřej Boháč has been appointed as the new director for the Institute of planning and development of Prague (IPR). The Prague city council unanimously approved his appointment for which no formal tender was held. Boháč, who has directed IPR since the removal of his predecessor Petr Hlaváček, worked previously with Prague’s former mayor Tomáš Hudeček. It was Hudeček who first promoted the idea of a simplified Metropolitan plan to replace Prague’s master plan. Disputes with city’s leaders paralyzed work at IPR and threw the development process into chaos as it became impossible to get planning for new projects.
