The number of building permits pulled over the first three quarters of 2015 have increased by 12.2 percent. More than 65,302 building permits were pulled in Orange County compared to 58,211 permits pulled for the same time last year. The total dollar value of the permits totaled more than $1.64 billion.
On the commercial side there were 1,209 building permits pulled in the county worth a total of more than $511 million in new construction. That’s an increase from the $462 million value placed on last year’s permits for the same period. The residential and multifamily permitting division handed out 2,997 permits worth with construction value of more than $1.1 billion. The same value was listed for the 2,645 permits granted over the first nine months of 2014.
