Orbán to discuss energy issues with Russian PM

7 January 2013

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will visit Moscow at the end of January to discuss energy issues with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, according to the daily Népszabadság. While Orbán is scheduled to meet only with Medvedev, the paper reports that he could also get an audience with President Vladimir Putin.
This would be the second Hungarian official to visit the Russian capital in two months. Péter Szijjártó, the Hungarian state secretary in charge of foreign political and economic affairs, traveled to Moscow in December, where he met with Alexey Miller, chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee. Szijjártó said the government will provide further information about the Hungarian-Russian talks at a later date.
