Orbis Hotel Group continues its expansion in Bulgaria with the announcement that it will open a new Novotel and a new ibis hotel in Sofia. Orbis Hotel Group took over the AccorHotels brand in CEE last year, including two hotels in Sofia: Novotel Sofia and ibis Sofia Airport.
“Bulgaria is a very promising market with great potential for hotels under international brands, an important element of our development strategy,” said Gilles Clavie, President and CEO of Orbis Hotel Group. “Our intention is very clear: we want to develop our network of hotels and become market leaders in Bulgaria.”
Novotel Sofia Centre and ibis Sofia Centre will open as a combo-hotel in the city center, accessible from separate entrances, offering a total of 250 new rooms. Both hotels are owned by Bulgarian Markan Holding AD through MHQ Combo EAD and will be operated by Orbis Hotel Group through a management contract. The new hotels are scheduled to be open in 4Q 2017.
