Orbis re-positioning two hotels in Budapest

5 February 2016

Following the acquisition of the AccorHotels chain in Central and Eastern Europe, the Orbis Hotel Group will be renovating two of the chain’s 17 hotels in Hungary. Mecure Budapest Metropol and Mercure Budapest Duna Hotel are to be transformed into ibis Styles hotels. The hotels are due to re-open in April. “Hungary is a very promising market with great potential, one of the key markets in the region and an important element of our development strategy,” said Gilles Clavie, president and CEO of Orbis Hotel Group.

The ibis Styles hotels are being marketed as an affordable brand with all-inclusive packages. They are generally located in city centers around Central and Eastern Europe, and each has its own design. The brand’s network includes 283 hotels in 25 countries.
