Orco prepares court battle to overturn Bubny construction ban

22 October 2012

Orco is determined to bring a lawsuit against the construction ban on the Bubny area in Prague 7. It communicated its determination to fight the ban in a letter to Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda and his deputy TomÔŔ Hudeček, according to the news server ČTK. A change to the city’s master plan, which would greenlight the Bubny area for redevelopment, has been on the City of Prague’s agenda for months, without making any progress. CTK cites anonymous sources who claim that the interests of some developers and city politicians are blocking the process. The city deputies are scheduled to discuss the situation at this week’s session. There’s around 60 ha of undeveloped land in the Bubny area.
