The Orea Hotels & Resorts network offers serviced apartments in Prague. Under the Orea Place brand, it has embarked on a new segment of services. It has 32 accommodation units available in Senovážná Street. The complex has a private wellness area with a hot tub and sauna. The hotel chain plans to open serviced apartments further, for example in Mariánské Lázně, and is also negotiating other projects in Prague, the company announced. Even the company Zeitraum, which until now offered accommodation for students in Prague, has newly focused on serviced apartments. In May, it opened a building with 53 accommodation units in Opletalova Street.

Serviced apartments combine hotel facilities, such as reception service or regular cleaning, with the benefits of private accommodation, where there is a kitchen, living room, but also a parking space. At OREA Place Seno, people can choose from one-room studios to three-room apartments. Their interiors are designed in different designs. The company wants to cover various client needs, said Gorjan Lazarov, director of the Orea Hotels & Resorts network. According to Lazarov, the chain is responding to the long-term demand for quality short-term and medium-term forms of accommodation by opening serviced apartments. According to him, clients are mainly tourists with more demanding needs, the apartments are also suitable for business stays.

“We are building a new concept on digital innovations, which we have been working on intensively during the covid. Once we have incorporated all the technologies, we will allow our guests to do most of the tasks digitally,” said Lazarov.

Zeitraum CEO Zdena Noack said some time ago that the Franz by Zeitraum house in Opletalova Street is the beginning of a large-scale expansion. He is building a similar project in Prague 1 and is also planning it in Warsaw and Krakow.

Tomáš Wildt from Vihorev Group, which also provides serviced apartments in Prague, has previously said that he expects this type of accommodation to rise. It was also successful during the coronavirus crisis, Vihorev Group had 70 percent occupied apartments last year. According to the Czech Hotel Association, the occupancy of Prague hotels was about 16 percent, which means a year-on-year decline of more than 70 percent.

Another company that operates on the Czech market of serviced apartments is CTR Rental Apartments, who offer fully furnished apartments in Dresden (Germany), Regensburg (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic) and Kosice (Slovakia).
