In a contract worth PLN 1.1bn, the consortium of General Electric International and SNC-Lavalin Polska will be overseeing construction of PKN Orlen’s CCGT power block in the city of Włocławek.
The Polish branch of General Electric International won a 12-year comprehensive service contract to supply the equipment for the 463 megawatt power block. The estimated contract value is PLN 200m. The whole project will reportedly cost PLN 1.4bn.
“Signing this agreements means our new 2013-2017 investment strategy has kicked off,” said Jacek Krawiec, head of Orlen. “Under the new plan, we expect to increase the power production capacity four times, over the next five years.”
