The departures terminal at Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni) in Bucharest will officially reopen Nov. 6 following a €52m extension, said Valentin Iordache, communication director of Bucharest Airports National Company.
An additional 19,500 sqm was added to the airport’s 20,000 sqm departures terminal. The terminal will also have eight new boarding gates and 52 new check-in terminals, according to Iordache.
After low-cost flights were rerouted from Baneasa to Otopeni in March, traffic at Otopeni increased by 30 percent for outgoing flights and by 45 percent for incoming flights.
