The Airbnb market is shrinking in Budapest, with over 5000 Airbnb apartments being removed by their owners from the website. Back in 2019 the number of short-term stay apartments stood at minimum 12.000 but recent searches suggest that currently only 7.000 are available. The properties that no longer feature on Airbnb’s website have been now put up to rent on the long-term rental market, leading to a drop in rental prices for apartments around the city.
