Tomasz Chrostny, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKIK) imposed a fine on Profi Credit Polska for practices that violate collective consumer interests. The amount of the penalty is PLN 4 million. Profi Credit charged fees in excess of consumers’ loans and disburse further loans to them without receiving their consent as well as without assessing their creditworthiness. A lot of complaints about the Bielsko-Biala loan company have been submitted to the UOKIK. The lender failed to provide consumers with reliable information about the terms of contract termination and improperly charged consumers for the period following the contract termination, informed Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
