The company P&O Port Dubai has bought the Port of Novi Sad in May for €8m on the back of a pledge to invest another €29m into the facility. Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the new owner’s first step would be to open an international passenger traffic terminal. “It is important for the citizens of Novi Sad and Vojvodina that the agreement provides for the port activity in the cargo port, as well as the international passenger traffic terminal, which will be the first investment,” Brnabic said in an interview with RTV Vojvodina. “In cooperation with the EU, we will invest €28m in the construction of the state-of-the-art BioSens Institute building, and €14m will be allocated from the Serbian budget,” Brnabic said.
