Warsaw, 30th June 2014 – PointPark Properties (P3), the specialist investor, developer and asset manager of warehouse properties, has started work on a complete build-to-suit “fit-out” of its 11,130 sqm DC1 temperature-controlled warehouse at PointPark Mszczonów, to the southwest of Warsaw. FM Logistic has taken a new lease and the works will bring the building up to the highest modern standards of fresh products’ storage and distribution. The general contractor is a Japanese construction company – Kajima Poland.
Piotr Wąs, Leasing and Development Director for P3 Poland said: “P3 has a long-standing and close relationship with FM Logistic at PointPark Mszczonów. We’ve taken the opportunity, as an important part of signing a new lease with them, to also begin a major modernization of DC1 – which was the oldest building on the park – and install cutting edge refrigeration equipment for storing fresh products and their distribution in line with FM Logistic´s sophisticated technical requirements.”
FM Logistic is a major international logistics contractor, with its headquarters in Phalsbourg, France. The company is engaged in a 10-year business strategy to double in size through internal growth and external development. FM logistic has just over 17.000 employees and a total sales turnover of over €1 billion.
The company employs about 2,700 people in Poland, making it one of the largest employers in the logistics sector in the country. PointPark Mszczonów is a key element in FM Logistic’s network servicing the Polish and other Central and Eastern European markets. The major alterations now being undertaken by P3 will allow FM Logistic to offer its customers ‘best-in-class’ food storage and distribution facilities for Poland and across the region.
Sandra Wróblewska, Senior Business Development Manager at Kajima Poland said: “We´re delighted to be a part of this project in a key location and to be able to meet the demanding technical standards of FM Logistic. P3 is a rapidly growing force in the domestic and pan-European logistics markets and we found the local team extremely professional to work alongside.”
PointPark Mszczonów is located in an industrial area, which is emerging as a dynamic and fast-growing logistics area adjacent to the E67 dual-carriageway (Warsaw-Katowice) and TIR 50 route, which links to the A2 highway and route E77. It is only 40 minutes from the International Airport at Okęcie. The total area of the park is 318,00 sqm, with currently only 6,100 sqm available for leasing. There is also the potential for an additional 230,000 sqm in build-to-suit developments. PointPark Mszczonów’s current clients alongside FM Logistic, are companies such as Fiege, JMP, ID Logistics Polska, Mondi and ND Logistics.
