Padok Investments started construction on PADOK IceRink, a modern winter sport facility in Prague 10-Strašnice. The stadium, intended for ice-hockey and ice-skating training, is scheduled to open in January 2018. Czech ice-skating champion Tomáš Verner, who won European championship in 2008, is an ambassador of the project and plans to open an ice-skating school there. The project’s costs, expected to run to CZK 170m, will be financed by Raiffeisen Leasing and private investors, whom Padok Investments promises a 6-percent yield in three years. Subterra will oversee the construction, which could be completed by the end of this year.
