PAIiIZ: BPO expanding into Poland’s mid-sized cities

23 February 2015

Employment in Poland’s BPO sector could grow to 170,000 jobs this year, according to Monika Piątkowska, head of the country’s information and investment agency (PAIiiZ). She points out that Poland’s outsourcing sector has been growing rapidly over the past 10 years, with 600 outsourcing centers coming on-line during the last decade. “What we’re observing at the moment is that the BPO sector is migrating from the biggest academic agglomerations, like Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków, into mid-sized Poland’s cities.” She adds that India remains Poland’s key competitor in the BPO sector, but thanks to its highly skilled workforce, Poland is pulling ahead.
