Palác Národní, a mixed-use project, is underway at the corner of Národní and Mikulandská streets in the Prague city center. Considered the most expensive plot in Prague, plans for the site originally included a high-end hotel. However, the property recently changed hands and the new investor, Sebre, controlled by Petr Němec, decided to change the scheme to office and retail space.
Palác Národní will be a combination of a new-build on Národní street and the reconstruction of a neighboring baroque palace on Mikulandská street. The building’s energy consumption will be low and the baroque palace’s historical features will be preserved, writes the server iHned.cz. A shopping arcade will go through the building, connecting Národní to Mikulandská via a small garden.
