2014-06-12 Warschau – Panattoni Europe is delivering a new warehouse facility in Bremen for the logistics client BLG. The facility is being constructed in Bremen’s cargo transport center (GVZ), the largest GVZ area in Germany.
With a targeted completion date at the end of 2014, the facility is to be a flexible modern warehouse with a floor space of approximately 27,000 square meters and another 1,600 square meters of office and social areas. Munich-based Logivest GmbH acted as broker for the lease negotiations. This will be Panattoni’s second project in Bremen in the last two years, where previously the developer completed a 30,000-square-meter facility for Lear Corporation. By deciding to extend their existing business in Bremen, BLG Automotive is expanding its presence in the area where the company already manages over 300,000 square meters of logistics space.
“We are very pleased to increase our capacity in Bremen. This facility will allow us to satisfy current demand coming from our existing client base as well as from new clients,” said Frank Sturm, CEO of BLG Automotive GmbH & Co. KG. “We are very pleased to support BLG with its facility requirements in Bremen. The recent development activity in the area highlights Bremen’s importance as a logistics location, and we are happy to expand our business activity in the region,” said Felix Zilling, Panattoni’s Managing
Director for Northern Europe.
Panattoni Europe is currently developing more than 343,000 sqm in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, including the two facilities for Amazon totalling altogether over 200,000 sqm of
space. Since the beginning of 2014 Panattoni completed a 50-thousand-square-metre facility for Castorama Polska, a 33-thousand-square-metre BTS facility for Polaris, and the BTS project in Kutno for a worldwide cereal producer.
Since 2005, that is from the onset of Panattoni’s presence in Central Europe, the developer has built more than 2 million sqm of modern industrial space. In 2013 Panattoni Europe delivered more space than any other industrial/warehouse developer – an impressive 90,000 sqm, as well as having the largest space under construction – 317,000 sqm out of the 713,500 sqm under development across the market.
