Panattoni Europe aces CIJ Awards – 5 awards for the developer in the 12th edition of the competition

18 November 2014

Panattoni Europe recognised as industrial space leader, winning hands-down at the 12th edition of CIJ Awards. The company won five awards in the following categories: Industrial Developer of the Year, Industrial Lease of the Year and Industrial Investment of the Year. The fourth award – Leadership of the Year – was given to Robert Dobrzycki, Managing Partner Panattoni Europe, while the fifth went to the developer’s Marketing Team.

On 6 November, the Westin Hotel in Warsaw hosted the awards gala for the 12th edition of CIJ Awards, organised by the CEE development industry monthly. That evening, Panattoni Europe team was called up to the stage more often than anyone else, winning as many as five awards for: Industrial Developer of the Year, Industrial Lease of the Year, Industrial Investment of the Year, Leadership of the Year for Robert Dobrzycki and best Marketing Team. The competition has come to be regarded as prestigious and every year brings together the representatives of the property development and real estate sector of Central and Eastern Europe. Outside of Poland, it is also held in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

The five awards presented to Panattoni Europe are in recognition of the developer’s many years in the business as well as the last 12 months – from November 2013 to the end of October last – which were extremely busy for the whole team. Without a doubt, the most important accomplishment for the developer must be the historic deal with Amazon, unprecedented on the Polish and CEE scale, to build two distribution centres – near Poznań and Wrocław – totalling in excess of 246,000 sqm. It was one of the reasons for awarding the title for ” Industrial/ Warehouse Developer of the Year”, but not exclusively. The jury also took into account the statistics and the developer’s market leader position over three quarters of the period under consideration. In 2013, Panattoni signed lease contracts for 646,000 sqm and thus held a 34 per cent market share, with 317,000 sqm in the pipeline and, finally, 108,000 sqm of completed space in H1 2014, as well as: the construction of 300,600 sqm in September and completed 345,300 sqm in projects such as the BTS facility for K-Flex; expansion of its own park portfolio and the above-mentioned facilities for Amazon. Panattoni owes to the latter the award for “Industrial/Warehouse Lease of the Year” – Amazon chose the developer despite not having any track record of cooperation in Europe, and Panattoni was the only one able to meet the terms of the lease of two facilities totalling 246,000 sqm, or to complete the construction within 12 months. In turn, the Poznań investment project for Amazon won the “Industrial/Warehouse Development of the Year” title. It was commended for: putting together a 27 ha site by integrating 7 smaller plots, construction time of 9 months and completion of works two weeks before the deadline, as well as building an interchange on the road DK92 in as little as 4 months, featuring two roundabouts and cross streets with entry and exit ramps, service roads, access roads and local roads along the overbridge.

Robert Dobrzycki, Managing Partner Panattoni Europe, picked up his sixth ” Leadership of the Year” award. This year’s title comes as a token of appreciation for his effectiveness in action and excellent performance in the CEE region, which led to his promotion to the European level, as well as his personal leadership on the Amazon project and, last but not least, attracting an investment portfolio worth in excess of EUR 350m comprising real estate in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic. The developer’s Marketing Team, led by Anita Pietrykowska, was also acknowledged, winning the ” Marketing Team of the Year” title – in recognition of the marketing and PR campaigns supporting the developer’s major deals.
