Panattoni Stříbro has been certified BREEAM Outstanding New Construction sustainability rating

4 May 2023

A new building at Panattoni Park Stříbro, developed by Panattoni and belonging to the Accolade Industrial Fund portfolio, has been awarded the highest level of Outstanding in the BREEAM New Construction sustainability assessment. The companies have thus confirmed the high quality of their portfolios, with Panattoni currently having over 720,000 sqm of certified buildings and 100% of the properties within the Accolade Fund being BREEAM certified.

The new building with a floor area of almost 28,000 sqm was completed in just six months, which is unusual given the high standard of the building.

“Our tenth building at Panattoni Park Stříbro has been built from its inception as a showcase within the real estate and automotive industry without compromising on environmental and sustainability. A production building literally riddled with automation and technology deserves such an approach. The construction process, the building materials used and the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies resulted in achieving the highest level of certification, which only confirmed our leading position on the Czech market in sustainable industrial construction,” said Pavel Sovička, Panattoni’s General Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, adding that Panattoni currently has 12 more projects in the Czech Republic undergoing the BREEAM New Construction certification process, covering an area of almost 750,000 sqm.

“Achieving another BREEAM New Construction certification at the Outstanding level only proves that we at Accolade Fund do not take meeting our ESG targets lightly in the long term. High environmental performance is an undeniable requirement not only from tenants, but also from investors and financial markets and is a natural response to the fact that green and operationally efficient industrial buildings are on the rise,” said Milan Kratina, CEO of Accolade.

The use of state-of-the-art technology within the building has enabled a 50% reduction in energy consumption and a 65% reduction in daily water consumption, while CO2 emissions are 62% lower than the average reference building. More than 89% of the waste generated during construction activities was recovered. The excellent thermal insulation of the envelope and roof structure, among other things, contributed to the reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

BREEAM New Construction is a quality and sustainability rating system for newly constructed buildings that Panattoni uses for all projects in its portfolio.

In terms of the levels achieved, Panattoni Parks are the most environmentally friendly buildings in the Czech industrial construction market.

After obtaining the Outstanding certification of the newly completed building in Panattoni Park Stříbro, Panattoni can boast a built portfolio that reaches almost 1,500,000 m2 of buildings with the certification process already obtained or underway. Four newly built industrial halls in locations in different parts of the Czech Republic aspire to the Outstanding level at the same time.
