The Pardubice international airport is planning to shift its focus to Western Europe after seeing a decline in Russian passengers. Michal Červinka, the director of East Bohemian Airport (EBA), which operates of the airport, told the server lidovky.cz that the airport is negotiating with air operators from Western Europe. He admits, however, that Pardubice airport is not able to offer the standards these companies require. To accelerate passenger service, EBA plans to build a new terminal. Construction is set to start this fall. However, negotiations with construction companies have come to a deadlock, as the airport’s budget is CZK 300m, and construction companies are demanding CZK 400m.
