Passenger numbers at Prague airport 87% down in July

20 August 2020

Roughly 250,000 passengers went through Prague’s international airport in July, a figure that represented a 600 percent increase from June but was 87 percent off the pace from 2019. In all, there were 4,738 flights during the month, which was twice as many as the month before. Most passengers were travelling to the usual holiday destinations such as Burgas, Amsterdam or Crete. Despite the improvement, air travel is picking up extremely slowly, but continued improvement is expected for August. The number of destinations available to travelers will expand to 80, including three long-haul routes: two to the Middle East and one to Seoul, South Korea. New routes to Brussels, Milan, Bologna, Warsaw and Helsinki are planned in the coming weeks. But it means that by September, just half of the original number of destinations available a year ago will be accessible from Prague.
