Passenger numbers up at Prague airport

30 April 2015

Despite a drop in occupancy on flights to Russia and Ukraine, passenger numbers at the Václav Havel Airport Prague were up by 3.5 percent in the first quarter of 2015, year-on-year to 2 million. The head of Czech aeroholding Václav Řehoř foresees total growth of 3 percent for the year thanks to increasing traffic to and from Europe and the Middle East. The growth has been supported by new routes to Orly airport in Paris, and to Sabiha Gökcen in Istanbul. Air carriers have also strengthened capacity on lines connecting Prague to London, Rome and Dubai. Overall, flight occupancy rose 4 percent to 71 percent for Q1 2015.
