Lithuanian airports reported a 14.7-percent y-o-y increase in passenger traffic between January and May, according to figures released by Statistics Lithuania. A total of 1.743 million passengers went through the country’s airports during this five-month period. In May alone, airports reported passenger traffic hit 449,700, up by 12.9 percent y-o-y and 18.5 percent m-o-m, according to the data. The most popular routes between January and May included flights from and to Britain (21.6 percent), Germany (9.8 percent) and Norway (8 percent). Lithuanian air carriers, on the other hand, reported a 7.9 percent y-o-y decrease in passenger numbers for the period, while cargo and mail dropped by 31 percent.
