After stepping down as Poland’s deputy prime minister, Paweł Tamborski is poised to become the next CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. His appointment still needs to be approved by the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority as well as WSE shareholders, who are set to vote on the issue on June 26.
Although government officials have declined to comment, the Polish media has been speculating for the last few weeks that Wojciech Kowalczyk, who works in the finance ministry, will replace Tamborski as deputy prime minister.
Tamborski gained experience on the Polish capital market working for Wood & Company, where he headed the investment banking unit. He also served as managing director of UniCredit CAIB Securities in London. Prior to this, he worked for CA IB Securities, WBK and Bank Staropolski.
