Pawlowski starts arbitration against CR from Washington

14 November 2014

Swiss developer Sebastian Pawlowski says he will sue the Czech Republic next year. He is seeking compensation for lost investment, after planning officials blocked his residential project in Benice on the outskirts of Prague. Following his purchase of land, the city assembly approved changes to the master plan allowing construction on it, overlooking the fact that a major railway line was to be built in the area. The change to the master plan was later cancelled by the Prague court, and later by the Czech Supreme Court, leading Pawlowski to claim CZK 2.5bn in damages from the Czech state. He says he will start the action from Washington in early 2015.
