Pawlowski starts arbitration with Czech state over Benice

3 December 2015

Sebastian Pawlowski has begun arbitration proceedings against the Czech state claiming a marred investment. The international arbitration court in Washington is now set to rule on his residential project Benice on the outskirts of Prague. Pawlowski is claiming CZK 2.6bn in damages, a position rejected by the Czech finance ministry as illegitimate. Pawlowski bought agricultural land in Benice, which the municipality had planned to open up for construction. However, these plans later changed. Pawlowski blames former Prague mayor Tomáš Hudeček for the damage he has incurred, claiming that the former mayor of Prague was responsible for failing to make the change that would allow his project to go forward.
