Penta approved for purchase of Masaryk station land

7 January 2016

Czech Railways have approved sale of three development sites around Prague’s Masaryk railway station to Penta. The investment group will first acquire a plot along Na Florenci street totalling 10,000 sqm for CZK 235m. The deal includes a plot along Na Florenci across the street from Penta’s Florentinum business complex, plus a plot in Hybernská street and another next to the Florenc bus station.

Penta plans to develop Na Florenci into a new business street with office and retail that could offer a direct rail connection to Prague’s international airport in the future. Penta will carry out a refurbishment of historical buildings connected to the station that it leases from Czech Railways. The deal comes roughly a decade after the railway giant began trying to sell off the land.
