Penta Investment seeks new Polish investments

18 October 2012

The Slovak private equity fund Penta Investment is seeking new investments in Poland in order to increase its exposure to the country, the Polish Press Agency PAP reported today. The company will be focusing on the retail, FMGG, health-care, road infrastructure and real estate sectors, and has raised €400m for the purpose. The first transaction is set at the first quarter of 2013, said Filip Szubert, investment directors at Penta, although he was unwilling to provide any details.
“We’re currently working on several transactions. We aim to be closing two deals per year,” said Szubert. “For us, Poland is the most exciting market. At present, around 20 percent of our investment portfolio is made up from investments in Poland. Our goal is to expand it to 40 percent,” Szubert said.
