Penta started building a hospital in Michalovce in eastern Slovakia. The company plans to invest €34m in the project. Penta retain an 80-percent stake in the hospital, while the Košice region will control 20 percent.
Once the site’s existing building is demolished, construction of the new hospital is expected to take three years. Penta spokesman Martin Danko told Hospodářské noviny that this will be the first newly built hospital on the Slovak market in 20 years. The hospital will have will have 310 beds.
