Prague will halt the permitting process for the planned D metro line for 18 months while it continues to negotiate with landowners. The city has not succeeded to buy out the land it needs to build the fourth line, which will run from Náměstí Míru in Prague 2 to Písnice in Prague 4. The first phase was scheduled for completion in 2022 but will now likely be delayed. Prague’s deputy mayor responsible for transport, Petr Dolínek, says that the city has not yet come to an agreement with seven landowners in Písnice and near Thomayerova nemocnice in Prague 4. The city needs to buy out a total of 800 plots in order to move forward with the metro expansion.
