Construction started this week on the Pestana Amsterdam Hotel. Comprised of two historic buildings overlooking the city’s main channel, the five-star hotel will offer 154 rooms, of which 32 will be apartments, meeting and event rooms. There will also be a restaurant, bar, terrace and a spa with an indoor pool and gym. Pestana, the biggest hotel group in Portugal, operates hotels in Spain, the UK, Germany, the US, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela, South Africa, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Morocco and Sao Tome and Principe.
