The average wage in the Pilsen region of the Czech Republic now stands at CZK 27,944, the third highest in the country (behind Prague and Central Bohemia). The server iDnes.cz reports that two hospitals in the region are its largest two employers. The University Hospital in Pilsen has 4,560 people in its books whose average wage is CZK 41,965. Its spokeswoman said that under the agreed salary agreement with employees, salaries were set to rise 10 percent in January. Plzeňský Prazdroj, which employs 1,000 people in the city of Pilsen, pays an average of CZK 33,720 each month, including bonuses. It has agreed to a 6 percent pay hike as of April. Škoda Transportation, also based in Pilsen, paid out an average of CZK 35,200 over the first ten months of 2017.
