Work on the second portion of the ring road around Pilsen could get underway next year, if the city is able to keep to a schedule it recently announced. It’s only a small, 3.5 km step for what will be a far longer road, but city authorities call the new road a crucial piece of infrastructure for the city. This one would extend the first section of the road beginning outside the village of Křimice, with work now due for completion in 2021. The cost of the investment is being estimated at roughly CZK 1.7bn but there’s concern that delays could push the price up. EU funds will cover the first CZK 1.2bn.
