Pionir in talks to acquire Mondelez factory in Győr

Pionir, the Serbian confectionery group, is in talks to buy a factory owned by US food giant Mondelez in Győr, northwest Hungary. Pionir plans to complete the transaction this year. The cost of the deal has not been disclosed. The factory produces candies under the Pionir-owned Negro brand for the Hungarian market. With the acquisition of the facility, Pionir will get a “made in EU” designation of origin and start sales of Negro throughout the European Union.
