In three weeks, Bucharest citizens will be driving on Pipera Passage, announced mayor Sorin Oprescu. With the opening of the passage will be arranged a new roundabout at the intersection Pipera with Nicolae Caranfil Avenue.
Early April is the new term offered by mayor Oprescu for the opening of Pipera Passage, though some could doubt the date, as itβs the fifth time the mayor has announced an opening date. The first was in Ocober 2011 and was followed by others in December, January and February 2012. According the contract, the passage was supposed to be be completed late last year.
The road is 1.5 km in length and is 34 meters wide and cost β¬31m. The project widens Pipera Road between Floreasca Avenue and the Bucharest – Constanta railway line. Construction work was completed by PA & Co. International and F. Kirchoff Streingbau, having begn in March 2010.
