Piraeus Bank, which agreed to sell its Bulgarian operations to Eurobank Ergasias for €75m, is planning to keep some of its assets in the country once the sale is finalized later this year. The assets, including all properties as well as certain “equipment, agreements, employees and disputes,” will be transferred to the newly established Piraeus Real Estate. As of the end of 2018, Piraeus Bank was the 10th largest lender in Bulgaria in terms of assets.
