Rebounding from last year’s profit losses, Poland’s oil kingpin PKN Orlen posted a net profit of PLN 1.366bn in the third quarter of 2012. Orlen’s revenues also increased by 10 percent in the third quarter of the year, compared with the same period last year, with the company reporting PLN 31.7bn. “Despite the economic slowdown, the climate in the oil sector remains positive, as our Q3 2012 performance beats market estimates,” said Jacek Krawiec, head of PKN Orlen. “We’ve manage to maintain stable production and sales volume, despite recent decreases in consumption levels.”
