Planned wellness center in Winter Park clear first planning hurdle

5 November 2015

Winter Park Health Foundation’s new $40 million wellness center has received its first round of approvals from the city of Winter Park’s planning and zoning board. If approved by the city commission, the two-story, scheme will create a 78,000-square-foot wellness center and a four-story, 265-space parking garage at 2005 Mizell Ave. The building would also serve as a meeting space for the foundation to meet with other non-profit organizations. North Carolina-based Duda Paine Architects is the design firm, and Orlando-based Jack Jennings & Sons has been selected as the general contractor. If approved by the city, construction would begin by June of 2016 with a expected completion date of December 2017.
