Although an agreement on PM Tusk’s pension reform was not reached during Tuesday’s meeting of the PO and PLS leaders, PSL’s Waldemar Pawlak said wasn’t ruling out a last-minute compromise saving the issues just yet. PO’s junior coalition partner PSL has been in talks about the issue for some time now, after the party refused to support the plan to raise the retirement age to 67. Tuesday’s meeting had been seen as crucial, but a joint press conference afterwards had to be cancelled. “This is not a matter of agreement between the coalition partners,” said minister Pawlak. “This is a serious decision, which concerns the fate of Poles. I am pleased that this debate is being conducted.”
