Poczta Polska has opened a new sorting facility in Gdynia

Poczta Polska has opened a new distribution and reloading point in Gdynia with a total area of ​​approx. 4,500 square meters, the company said. It is an element of the expansion of the new logistics network, which increases the efficiency of deliveries of parcels to business and individual customers.

The main function of the new facility will be to support the operation of the regional sorting plant in Pruszcz Gdański and logistics services in the northern part of the Tri-City area, including the Pocztex courier service. and business.

The opening of a new distribution and reloading point in Gdynia is part of the strategy adopted by Poczta Polska for the years 2021–2023 to increase the market share of CEP (courier, express and parcel services), to handle the growing volumes of e-commerce parcels, emphasizes Poczta.

“The service of the growing e-commerce market is more and more important for Poczta Polska, we want to be a leader in this market, therefore we are developing to efficiently serve contractual customers, especially online stores. The new hall with a larger area gives us the opportunity to provide the best possible service to our customers, it also improves the comfort of work of its employees,” said vice-president Andrzej Bodziony.

The facility will provide services to over 600 contractual clients from the public and business finance sector (e-commerce sector) located in Gdynia, Sopot and the Wejherowo, Puck and Lębork poviats. UP Gdynia 2 plays an important role in handling Pocztex courier services. In this regard, he coordinates logistics services, including the city of Gdynia (250,000 inhabitants), the commune of Kosakowo, and on Saturdays additionally of the Puck and Kartuzy poviats. Shipments are delivered by a total of 50 couriers and postmen who collect letters and parcels for delivery in these regions every morning. The new hall is well connected with the regional sorting plant of Poczta located in Pruszcz Gdański. Thanks to the location close to the S6 expressway and further on the A1 motorway, fast communication with central Poland is also provided, the report also said.

The logistics network of Poczta Polska includes 14 regional sorting plants and 13 local sorting plants which, combined with the network of 7,600 postal points of contact, constitute the infrastructure base for the development of logistics. Delivering parcels is handled by approx. 25 thousand. postmen and couriers.
