The Podravka Group’s net profit for the first quarter of 2020 amounted to HRK 91 million. Sales of the Podravka Group increased by HRK 211.3m to HRK 1.2bn, an increase of 20.8 percent over the previous year.
Podravka’s Nutrition and Pharmaceuticals saw the most growth, most of which came in the final month of the quarter when the coronavirus pandemic’s influence over retail peaked. The company’s Food department generated HRK 970.9m in sales, an increase of HRK 155.4m compared to the previous year. Pharmaceuticals, generated HRK 257.9m in sales, which represents an increase of HRK 56m compared to the previous year, with Podravka private pharmaceutical brands posting a 25.2 percent increase in sales of HRK 40.8m.
