We have 4,896 new cases of coronavirus infection, confirmed by positive laboratory tests. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 1,140,572 people have fallen ill in Poland, the Ministry of Health (MZ) informed. A total of 22,960 people died.

According to the data of the Ministry of Health, over 6.67 million tests were carried out during the pandemic, and over 22 thousand in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry’s data this morning, 191,381 people were quarantined, 12,310 – epidemiological supervision. 18,813 people were hospitalized (out of 37,411 beds for COVID-19 patients). 1,807 ventilators were occupied (out of 3,103 available in hospitals). So far, 22,960 people have died. 869,155 patients were considered healthy.
Additional restrictions have been in force throughout the country for several weeks. Before that, the whole country was in the red zone.
According to the government’s plans, if the average number of daily cases of illness falls below 19,000 within 7 days. it will be possible to return to the rules in force in the red zones. If the number of these cases falls below 10,000 – it will be possible to introduce a yellow zone, and in the case of a drop below 4,000 – there will be regulations for the green zone.
A negative scenario is also taken into account, i.e. the introduction of a national quarantine if the average number of cases over 7 days exceeds 27,000. daily.
A few weeks ago, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed that students will not return to classroom education before Christmas, and that catering establishments, gyms and fitness clubs will be closed until December 27. For over a week, all retail outlets have been open, including galleries and furniture stores in the highest sanitary regime.
