Carrefour and Eleport have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the Polish market for the launch of 170 charging points at more than 70 Carrefour-owned retail facilities located in 65 Polish cities, Carrefour announced.
The agreement establishes a joint initiative between Carrefour Polska and Eleport to develop a network of electric vehicle charging stations across Poland. Through this cooperation, Carrefour will offer customers to charge their electric cars with 100% renewable energy, which is in line with the pillars of the ‘Carrefour 2026’ strategic plan announced by the Carrefour Group in November 2022, it stressed.
The first of the 170 charging points under contract, which will be located at more than 70 Carrefour-owned facilities in 65 Polish cities, will be launched later this year. Work is currently underway related to the administrative process and the preparation of each location for the installation of the devices. The goal of both partners is to have the devices operational in all locations as soon as possible, it was announced.
“We believe that the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at our facilities will help us to be closer to our customers, encouraging them to continuously use green solutions. At the same time, this partnership is part of our efforts to achieve the goal of sustainable transport, which is extremely important in response to current economic and environmental challenges. These are the pillars on which we want to build the company of the future that Carrefour Poland wants to become,’ – Carrefour Polska executive committee member and director of real estate,” said expansion and assets Agata Kopytyńska.
Eleport, in turn, sees this cooperation as an opportunity to further expand its network and the availability of charging services in Poland.
“Cooperation with Carrefour Polska is another milestone for us strengthening our presence on the Polish market. Thanks to this partnership, we will have the opportunity to offer the network’s customers in dozens of Polish cities the possibility of fast car charging during their daily shopping. We are particularly pleased to have found a partner with whom we share a desire to actively build environmentally friendly transport solutions,” indicated Elelport sales director Paweł Dolecinski.
