The supervisory board of the Polish natural gas giant PGNiG has named Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa as its its new chief executive, making her the second woman to be selected as the executive of a major state-owned company after Kompania Weglowa’s appointment of its new CEO Joanna Strzelec. Piotrowska-Oliwa had been on the board of PKN Orlen after heading a cellphone unit of Polish telecomunications company TP.S.A. PGNiN whose former chariman Michał Szubski resigned in December, says it is now looking to establish its position on the shale gas market.
