Orlen operated Poland’s largest network of 1,916 fuel stations at the end of July 2023 (down by 4 stations compared to end-June data); bp was second with 580 stations (+2 m/m) and MOL was third with 489 stations (-5 m/m), according to data compiled by ISBnews. In total, the six largest operators in Poland, which also include Shell, Moya and Circle K, managed a network of 4,259 stations.
The ranking of the largest fuel station networks in Poland at the end of July 2023 is as follows:
1. Orlen – 1,916 stations (-4 m/m)
2. bp – 580 (+2 m/m), as at 24 July this year.
3. MOL – 489 (-5 m/m)
4. Shell – 457 (-4 m/m)
5. Moya – 417 (+4 m/m)
6. Circle K – 400 (-4 m/m)
In total, the six largest operators had 4 259 stations, representing ca. 53.8% of all fuel stations in Poland (compared to 7 919 outlets at the end of H1 2023 according to the Polish Organisation of Oil Industry and Trade – POPiHN).
In July, by far the fastest growing was the Moya network, which increased by 4 outlets. The bp network also grew by 2 stations, while the MOL network shrank by 5 stations and Orlen and Circle K each lost 4 outlets. Shell’s ownership remained unchanged.
Cumulatively after seven months of 2023, Moya’s network increased by 16 outlets, Circle K and bp’s by 7 stations and Shell’s by 4 stations. The Orlen network decreased by 4 stations compared to the end of 2022 and the MOL network by 8 sites.
