The arrears of people and companies towards cooperatives, housing associations, and municipal property managers amount to almost PLN 200 million, according to BIG InfoMonitor data. During the year, they increased by over PLN 19 million, although at the same time almost PLN 16 million was recovered.
The rental debts reported by creditors to BIG InfoMonitor are on average PLN 23,420 for a person and PLN 46,144 for a company, it was stated.
The total amount of rent arrears of people and companies collected in the BIG InfoMonitor Debtors Register is almost PLN 200 million. Only in the first two months of this year, PLN 1.4 million of debt for unpaid rents increased. It was PLN 19.4 million per year, and from the beginning of the pandemic – PLN 44.2 million. The vast majority of entries concern natural persons, because companies’ liabilities constitute only 10%. In total, there are 8,052 entities not paying for rent in the BIG InfoMonitor database, including 7,619 consumers, according to the report.
BIG InfoMonitor data shows that failure to pay rent is more often a problem for women – 53% of debtors. The most numerous group are women aged 45-54. Mazovia is a region where the average rent arrears of people is the highest in the country, and in total, Mazovia and Mazovian companies have a total debt of PLN 36.5 million.
In the BIG InfoMonitor database, the most rent arrears come from property managers from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship, they reported almost PLN 101 million of debts belonging to 3,540 people and companies. 1,185 debtors come from Mazovia, from the province Warmińsko-Mazurskiego 608 with a debt close to PLN 18 million. The fourth voivodeship in terms of the total amount of reported rent debts is the voivodeship Łódź, where they exceed PLN 12 million and 862 entities are subject to debts, have been completed.
