Only unvaccinated people are to be quarantined.
“We can see that there are definitely more new mutations in our country as well,” said Kraska during the press conference.
He indicated that Tuesday in Poland 14 cases of the Gamma mutation were detected (out of 188 of all confirmed cases), and Wednesday 17 (out of 165), in the case of the Delta mutation it was 90 Tuesday and 96 yesterday, respectively, and the Beta mutation – 36 and 86.
The deputy minister noted that the new variant is currently particularly dominant in the UK, and yesterday there has been a report that a new variant will appear in India – the Delta Plus variant.
“Due to the fact that these new variants spread more quickly in the environment, we decided to take preventive measures by restoring the quarantine for people coming from abroad. The quarantine will cover people coming from countries outside the Schengen area and not belonging to the European Economic Area. This quarantine will apply today from midnight “- emphasized Kraska.
This quarantine will be for 10 days. There is a possibility of exemption from it after 7 days in the event of a negative COVID-19 test.
He emphasized that, according to the epidemic data of the European Center for Disease Control and Monitoring, 14 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 were recorded in Poland in the last 14 days. residents.
The highest rates were in: Tunisia 209 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, in Denmark – 152, Spain – 133, UK – 131 and Greece – 127.
The lowest rates were recorded in: Malta – 9 cases per 100 thousand. inhabitants within 14 days, Romania – 10 cases, Egypt – 11 and Bulgaria – 29.
