The tender for the construction of the carbon block in Kozienice has been resolved, with Polimex-Mostostal and Hitachi Power Europe consortium declared as the winner. The winning price was PLN 6.3bn, for which the companies are to develop the modern coal-fired unit. “Due to the technical terms, as well as it comes to efficiency and productivity, the best offer won,” says Krzysztof Zborowski, Enea’s board member. The work on the project is set to be completed in five years, and will increase the capacity of the existing power generator by 1000 MW, which is about one-third of the power it is now producing.
